Product Name: Meropenem
Indication: For tthe treatment of severe systemic and/or localized infections caused by multi-drug resistant susceptible bacteria in dogs.
This veterinary medicinal product is a broad-spectrum carbapenem antibiotic. It is indicated where other antibiotics have
failed or are likely to be ineffective, based on culture and susceptibility testing.
Serious Respiratory Tract Infections (e.g., pneumonia)
Complicated Urinary Tract Infections (e.g., pyelonephritis)
Intra-abdominal Infections (e.g., peritonitis)
Skin and Soft Tissue Infections(e.g., deep pyoderma, wounds)
Bacterial Septicaemia.
NOTE: Its use should be reserved for cases confirmed or strongly suspected to involve multi-drug resistant organisms.
Dosage: For oral use only.
The recommended dose is 15 mg of meropenem per kg of body weight, administered every 8 to 12 hours.
The exact dosage, frequency, and duration of therapy MUST be determined by a veterinarian based on the type and severity of the infection, the causative organism's susceptibility, and the patient's renal function.
